Reiner Meutsch Foundation: FLY & HELP
Reiner Meutsch, former executive director of ‘berge & meer’, developer and presenter of the successful radio programme ‘Mein Abenteuer’ (My Adventure) on RPR1, world traveller with a private plane license and founder of the ‘Fly & Help’ Foundation. In 2010, as part of a world trip with a two-seater sporting aeroplane- model ‘Piper Cheyenne’- Reiner initiated his first five social projects in Rwanda, Ghana, India, Indonesia and Brazil. This was just the beginning of a ”long journey”.
Personal reports and inspiring photos of this trip can be found within the pages of the book entitled ‘Abenteuer Weltumrundung’ (Adventure “Rround the World-Trip”). In addition to this book, you can catch Reiner regularly reporting on his projects and travels on his Multivisionshow.
Since this world trip in 2010, the Foundation has built new schools all over the world with the help of donations and volunteers. The basic idea centres on the thought that children with proper education can determine their own futures. People who can at the very least, read, write and calculate can understand and work towards solving crucial problems in their immediate environment.
Up until 2014, the project totalled an incredible 60 different school projects, necessitating an enormous 1,8 Million Euros funding volume. In 2015, a further 31 school buildings were erected, with an estimated funding volume of 3 million Euros. The original goal of 100 different school projects by 2025, will already be reached 2016.
The foundation is financed by donations, that are invested 100% in the projects. All the other costs incurred by the foundation are covered by Reiner Meutsch personally and a few private investors. Every single penny that is donated goes directly into funding the projects on site. A large part of the costs (ie, staff) are covered by ‘Prime Promotion GmbH’.
It was through Mr Meutsch and his helpful colleagues, that I got advices and contacts to exemplary working foundations and NPOs.
Thank you so much!
