For the new year, there are two donations for Fobeni Village in South Africa.
We have my dear friend Simone Bitterer, who donates 100€ to the „Lighthouse Academy“ that I visited end of 2015. The money will be spent on new textbooks. The school enjoys a solid reputation, which is evident by an influx of new students every year. The education center is, again and again, at its capacity limits. To avoid a lack of textbooks at the start of the next school year, „Mohau e.V.“ is collecting donations, which will be used „1 to 1“ for the acquisition of the books. Thanks, Simone!
And there’s „Help ‘n’ Travel“ that is sending 200€ to my godchild, Vutomi, and her family. As I’d already reported during my stay in South Africa in 2015, Vutomi suffers from Neurofibromatosis. A tumour has formed on the left side of the cheerful girl’s face. As the tumour can’t be healed, Vutomi needs another operation. If no tissue were to be removed, her left eye would become completely overgrown.
The operation will be conducted by great surgeons free of charge, yet that does not mean that Vutomi’s family have no costs to worry about. The operation needs to take place in Johannesburg, and the money is meant for the trip there!
Vutomi – I should add – has passed second grade with excellent grades and is already excited for new knowledge from third grade! Bravo, Vutomi!
It should also be added that „Help ‘n’ Travel“ has, as of last November, set up a permanent donation to the „Human Connection“ project, which I’ve repeatedly reported on here! Thus, 2017 saw an additional 40€ go to „Human Connection“.
Edit from 08.01.2018:
My dear friend Bianca gave 50€ to FLY & HELP: € 50,-, of which, as usual, every cent will be put into school construction projects. Thank you, Bianca!
Edit from 01.02.2018:
The godmother of two of my godchildren (my godwife?) donates another € 60,- to FLY & HELP. 100% of that amount will be spent on school construction projects. Thanks Nina!
May education find a home EVERYWHERE!
