Dear friend, you have accompanied my project and supported me with your positive energy. It is time to publish a comprehensive update on “Help ‘n’ Travel”, or in this case, on myself.
In the entry “Departure from Crete” I already mentioned that after my scheduled second trip to Namibia I would be looking forward to a new chapter in my life. After almost eight years I quit my job as a holiday rep.
I can still remember exactly how I entered the Germania airplane that was headed home on my last day and looked back, struggling not to burst into tears, on the beautiful and curious years with DER-Touristik…
As it is, I’ve had the pleasure to board a Germania airplane quite often since then. My fate led me to this particular friendly airline with the green logo, where I have the chance to work as a flight attendant mainly from the station Münster-Osnabrück (and thus from my home airport).
Since then I have also found a great new place to stay in the rural outskirts of the Osnabrück area: in the aptly called “Haus am See” (“House by the lake”) farmhouse, a room became available this summer. The “Haus am See” project is a flat-sharing community that was founded about three years ago by friends of mine and is about living together, laughing together and learning from each other. The name of the shared flat already suggests it: we have a real goddamn lake in the garden! Also, we have animals, trees and lots of space for… everything.
I am finally always surrounded by my loved ones again, and I feel that it was the right move to return home. Unfortunately, my new job doesn’t allow for as much free time as I used to have as a holiday rep, where I “had to” take almost three months of free time every winter. And so, at least for this winter, I won’t be accompanying a school building project.
The contact with “FLY & HELP”, to “Mohau e.V.”, to “Tshega”, to “Kaokoland e.V.” and to the “Gouves Animal Shelter” will of course remain. For the time being I will try to support these projects through fundraising and my own donations. For the reasons mentioned, I will have to postpone my participation on-site. If you are interested in helping with one of these projects, I am glad to help you with word and deed.
Above all, I would like to support the project “Human Connection” and hope that the community will soon be able to go online with more than just the alpha test version, so that the public will finally recognize the positive benefits of such a “real social network”. A network with the right tools to inform, connect and take action. The network that could give our planet and its creatures a rosy future after all…. Inform yourself here (or just ask me).
At this point a huge thank you to everyone who supported me and the projects I accompany. My positive energy goes to you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
