A safe “Lamb’s Haven”

22. October 2019 Leave a Comment Written by ivan

Last evening, Ellanie and I discussed the use of (your) donations in detail and today I started spending the € 2,500 (or 40,000 Rand). I can already say that the money that you let Tshega spend at their own disposal will give all departments of the project the desired positive boost. To finance the school books (and “workbooks”) of the coming school year, Ellanie has fortunately been able to find other sources and sponsors, which is why we will use your money to realize many smaller projects. Of course, the reports of the following weeks will focus on the new equipment. A detailed list of implemented projects will follow at the end of my visit. Once again, a huge ’thanks’ to you and again the reference to the donation account over which you can continue to send 104% of your donations to the project during my stay in Fobeni (the additional 4% will be provided by a favorable exchange rate, generated by Help ‘n’ Travel).

My bank account:

Now I want to continue with another great news. Thanks to FLY & HELP and the company-owned foundation of my former employer, DER-Touristik Foundation e.V., Tshega was able to complete an ECD center (Early Childhood), last year. This tract enables more kindergarten- and preschool children to be accommodated and cared for much better. It also allows the other kids to concentrate much better by being separated from the rest of the primary school. Since the little ones enjoy more free time and can sometimes become very loud, the schoolchildren were unfortunately often distracted. But now, about 200 meters from the rest of the school, with its own, separated playground, the dwarves enjoy the luxury of their own world.

The ECD center – which is built for 100 children – currently takes care for 96 students, divided into two kindergarten- and two preschool classes. It is equipped with two craft-/artrooms, a separate kitchen, a covered outdoor area and two bathrooms, each with a bathtub (these are worth gold, as some of those kids can still wet themselves). In addition, the new wing has sufficient toilets and offices.

Personally, I am amazed at my first visit and declare this building wing to the new showpiece of the project. Here, the little ones can really express themselves: they are not disturbed by the big children, or even overrun. The playground is built to their needs and size. A toilet is always within reach. There is no shortage of space and, above all, they now have enough shade to play outside. In addition, this area offers enough space to assemble the complete school, for example, to celebrate the prizegiving ceremony together. I am incredibly happy to see what Tshega has done here again. Thank you DER-Touristik, thank you FLY & HELP!

Peace!
